BLMA – 4500 – Grab Iron Drill Templates – HO Prototype History: After receiving numerous requests to produce HO Scale Grab Iron Drill Templates, we listened to your ideas and have introduced a set of templates that will help even the most inexperienced modelers align and drill extremely precise holes for grab iron installation on any locomotive project. Installation Instructions We’ve designed the jigs with two different vertical spacings for EMD and GE locomotives.  Furthermore, you will notice that each jig as one single hole on the left, and a series of holes on the right.  The left hole is the common hole, while the holes on the right side of the jig are spaced for 15″, 18″, 20″ and 24″ grab irons (15″ being the closest hole to the left).Simply tape the jig in place, make sure you’re aligned correctly and drill through the existing holes.The vertical spacing is as follows:EMD vertical:  17″GE vertical:  16″ (the top grab iron has a spacing of 20.6″)Â
