Introduced in the early 1960s so crews could see over the bigger and taller freight cars coming into service, these HO models are based on prototypes with a full-width cupola that ended at the edge of the car roof. Other features of this WalthersMainline model include:
- Protoypes in service from 1960s to 1980s – some used as shoving platforms today
- Wide-vision style cupola with two window styles
- Stanray overhanging diagonal panel roof
- Thin profile, see-through running boards
- Finely molded end ladders
